The youngest and I were playing in Grammy’s kitchen, and this race happened. Drama! Jumps! Destruction! And ponies!
Shot on an iPhone 5, and edited in Final Cut Pro X.

Took a few shots of James Palau of the band Lancaster. Been fun watching this boy grow into a man.
Now this is how to record a record. In your living room. Just like Grandpa did. Wait for the pan to the record…recorder? #ancientTech (via kittydaisyandlewis)

Every Summer, Kristi and I participate in a faith-based youth event called FaithQuest in the Coast Range of Oregon. We provide media support and create visual worship experiences. We had the honor of working with some incredible musicians and artists over the weekend. Guitarist Rob Wells wrote this song after a particularly moving evening, and I directed, shot, and edited this video to highlight it, with Boone Langston on lead vocals, and his wife Dani and fellow Nicodemus Snow bandmate Adam Wolfgang on background vocals.
Visually, I chose a shaded area for nice, even light; the weather was perfect. I got to work with two Canon XA-10 cams and edited the piece with the new Final Cut Pro X (both fun and a bit frustrating – a great opportunity to learn new software though). The baptism shots were by Brent Albrecht and David McCarter Jr.
Part of the challenge is the the creative constraint of time pressure – everything was visualized, scouted, setup, blocked, rigged, shot, captured, edited and mastered in less than 12 hours. So, while it’s probably not my best possible work (learning FCP X along the way slowed things considerably), it is, I believe, good work with these constraints. And, the kids loved it!
As an artist, FaithQuest has become a wonderful and inspiring weekend of art, visuals, singing, laughing, collaborating, and dreaming. It’s become our “creative getaway” that refuels us.

Tonight we had a team meeting and worship time. An unexpected pleasure was this joyful performance from the Play4Hope team.
Yeah, I want to visit that church.
It was a great evening with lots of prayer and fellowship - a perfect way to prepare for the Love Burundi Festival tomorrow.
I recorded this today at PUMP - an amazing performance by Ike G., Cheronn F., Brent A., Sybil J., and soloing by Adam Wolfgang.

Not a word was heard at the tomb that day. Just shuffling of soldiers feet as they guarded the grave. One day, two days, three days had past. Could it be that Jesus breathed His last?
Could it be that His Father had forsaken him? Turned his back on his son despising our sin. All hell seemed to whisper “Just forget Him, He’s dead.” Then the Father looked down to his son and he said..
Arise, My love. Arise, My love. The grave no longer has a hold on you No more death’s sting No more suffering Arise…Arise…my love.
The Earth trembled and the tomb began to shake, and like lightening from Heaven The stone was rolled away. And as dead man the guards they all stood there in fright
As the power of love displayed its might Then suddenly a melody filled the air Riding wings of wind, it was everywhere The words all creation had been longing to hear The sweet sound of victory, so loud and clear.
Arise, my love. Arise, my love. The grave no longer has a hold on you. No more death’s sting no more suffering Arise…arise….
Sin, where are your shackles? Death, where is your sting? Hell, has been defeated. The grave could not hold the king.
Arise, My love. Arise, My love. The grave no longer has a hold on you No more death’s sting No more suffering Arise….Arise….Arise
